Teaching at the Walker

Play Games. Tickle the sky.

Teaching theatre combines and rolls all of my skills into one!

I teach in-school residencies for SteppingStone Theatre and sometimes in French! I have taught create-a-play style classes based on a variety of subjects that students are studying such as the environment or biographies of well known historical figures. I teach in the Children's Theatre's acclaimed Bridges program. I teach/direct/create/perform theatre with adults with disabilities at Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. When I lived in Algeria, I developed a program for using theatre to teach English. I was hired by both the US Embassy and British Council to work with teachers in their respective training programs. I also recently taught a workshop at the Walker Art Center adapting theatre activities into Arabic, French and Berber! I have taught physical theatre workshops all over Algeria and for professional actors in Amman, Jordan.

Working with Taous was unforgettable!  Working with a group of high school students who speak 8 different languages and are learning English can be a unique challenge. Taous worked to connect with these students and understand their diverse backgrounds and experiences.  Taous is a talented artist and a great communicator with a passion for helping ALL students find their voice.  Catch her if you can- she will make great experiences happen for you & your students!

“Taous brought a great energy to the classroom. She met students on their own level and was able to challenge them -bringing out their best! Always professional and inspiring!”
